Off to try that other software you mentioned Genius Vision.
no where can I tell it to send me email alerts in Zviewer…(please also review my other question about Zviewer for PC
Hey, I got Zviewer to finally work on my Android tablet but how do you get it set up to send EMAIL alerts? Software only lets me enter DVR name, user name, port, channels etc. Email settings are working but DVR’s are NOT sending any motion detected EMAILS no matter what I do in set up for the camera etc. Does YOURS send and email if it detects motion from one of your cameras set up with this model? If so, please tell me what you did to get it to work. I know the DVR can send a TEST email to my email set up on our home mail server, however no matter what I do in settings for motion record, send email when motion is detected, it simply does NOT work. You can’t get it to set up snaps and send either. However, this model seems NOT to detect motion to trigger and send email when motion is set up to EMAIL when motion is triggered. When I hit test, it PASSED! (finally) and sent an alert to my email. Then I went to our DVR’s and it showed the updated info. Got the info all set up on the NVMS5 standard edition, saved the parameters. So my husband set up our own mail server on one of our PCs called hmailserver. Thank you so much for getting back to me! SO you have the same model I have? I have tried different email servers (gmail, yahoo, centurylink) and used their proper PORTS (587 or 465 etc) all requiring SSL but still no go when I sent a TEST from the DVR. EVEN IF I HAVE TO BUY 2 more newer model DVR’s but I would like them to also have at least 2 audio in ports and can’t find any other Zmodo DVR models with this anymore - Anyone have a suggestions? or help on how I can get my current Zmodo DVR’s to work to send email motion alerts? This is soooo frustrating and I want this to work with email motion notification to send emails when motion is detected. When I hit test is tries then comes back “SEND UNSUCCESSFULLY, YOU CAN RETRY!” Please someone help me get email motion alerts to work with this DVR modelĪLSO, I have tried using Yahoo as the sender (reading what others have done on another post) and gmail as the receiver of the motion alerts… all settings correct for smtp and port etc, but NOTHING. Unable to find that service or info here: BTW, we are on Centurylink now (previously was Qwest), using the C2000T modem set up for fiber optics connection. I absolutely LOVE this DVR model (8 channels with 4 audio inputs) and PTZ, but need to know how I can get it to send email on Motion detection. PLEASE can someone help me on what to do. I use Gmail, set up the SMTP, etc correctly and when I hit test, it basically says it failed to send. Works great viewing, however, there has been a need now to get EMAIL alerts when motion is detected on 2 of the 16 camera’s connected to the Zmodo model ZMD-DD-SBN8 DVR’s.
I’ve mostly used them to only to monitor via TV with direct connection to the DVR’s to TV’s, or through my PC via the NVMS5 Standard Edition software (where you can group all 16 (8 each on the two DVR’s) and view it well, or through IE running as admin for each DVR. If you think this is a driver issue, please try Where do we see CMS.exe ? Let try to run a system scan with Speed Up My PC to see any error, then you can do some other troubleshooting steps.
